Bob Rubin: The Fiscal Delusion
#4
That IS quite a story. Not a surprise, really. I've always thought if I owned a business back in the 1950s and had a choice of giving 90 cents of every dollar to the government or invest the dollar back in my company the buck would go to the company. Not the same when I can put 65 cents into my pocket rather than a dime. We saw some pretty damn fine growth in the late 50s under Ike with that 91% rate for joint filers earning over $400 grand per year.

As far as the multiplier question goes, it sounds like at the top end of the economic scale the number must approach zero as money sits in CDs or gets sent to the casino at Wall Street.

BTW, I apparently can't start a thread around here but here's an interesting new technology by GE....micro LNG...that has the interest of Petronas. A market builder for natural gas as I see it.
