jft, both rigs are at E/A now because they have to drill both wells now to satisfy PRL requirements. As far as why Rig 3 is at E3 and not A3, I believe it is because it is not heliportable like Rig 2, and is much easier to get to E3 than A3, mostly by water/barge and a much shorter road. They may have bought it with ultimate use of that deeper capability in mind, but it is also faster; and depth is not necessarily, and I don't think likely, to be the reason it is at E3.
