One theory for the Bermuda Triangle is methane hydrates and spontaneous releases. Planes flying into gas clouds and creating explosions. Bubbles from the releases negating the flotation ability of the water and ships/boats sinking.
From what I think I know about it, I believe the technology is some time off into the future.
And then there are the liability issues, environmental impact statements and permits, not counting the costs issues and liquefaction logistics.
