Interesting post!

Agreed on Yazoo, but the post itself is not far fetched or unrealistic.  This final leg should happen fairly quickly (weeks) not months.  Why?  The 28th was set as a deadline for a reason, to account for the time needed by a preferred partner to complete their bid.  The company felt good enough about what the bid would look like to set a deadline.  This was completed successfully with "several" bids recieved by the deadline.  I take that to mean 3.  It could mean 4, consistent with the interest the company has alluded to, but at a minimum it's 3 bids.  That means at least one SM placed a bid.  If the 3 or 4 bids are all from the same pool the company has been talking to then we are very far along.  There weren't 12 bids from unknown parties etc.  IMO, the company knows the winner already and the question is how much deliberation the BoD has to conduct to meet the minimum fiduciary requirements before announcing the decision.  A delay beyond March would not be good and f the PPS were to slide further, IOC could see a hostile offer at a price that would disappoint many longs. I believe that the company, PNG, and their new partners want to conclude this quickly.
