I'm just very, very thankful the US largely resisted the strong urge to follow the "austerity to growth" economic theory adopted by Japan in the 1990s, then Europe now in the 2010s. With TARP repayments at 95% and GM investment loss projected at only around $20 billion the Stimulus program sure was cheap.

Will this lesson be lost on our leaders? I fear the answer is found in the word "sequestration".
