The important point Mr Sydbod is not what the analyst said.
What's important is how people interpreted and then used the report.
Shorts twisted it (as they do with all positive and neutral IOC articles/ reports) to give them a reason to yet again promulgate their thesis that IOC will most likely not reach a deal with XOM; and if they come to an agreement, the deal will be highly unfavorable to IOC.
So there you have it, another instance of Resourcearb and Kommonsents being spot on with their posts on SHU and elsewhere.
The only way to eliminate the Shorts from our IOC universe is to consumate this deal with XOM and then quickly enter into the addtional deals that Dr. Hession alluded to yesterday.
In the past, IOC always claimed to have robust plans with specific timetables that were NEVER met.
If IOC now shows investors that they consistently meet specific plans/ timetables, Shorts will instantly head for the hills and even more "bigs" will start accumulating shares.
