So one basically has to invest on faith. But the fact that they can't discuss the deal details isn't anything extraordinary, and those who are familiar with these kind of deals argue these things take a lot of time and the time it is taking is nothing extraordinary. Either you are comfortable with that and sit these swings out (or even trade a little on them), or perhaps this stock isn't for you and you should move to, dare I say, something like Exxon.
