But if you believe him that this is the best discovery in the region in the last 20 years then there is no reason to worry all that much. Having said that, I realize this is out of the comfort zone of many:
- They can't discuss deal details
- The deal is taking longer than many hoped or thought
So one basically has to invest on faith. But the fact that they can't discuss the deal details isn't anything extraordinary, and those who are familiar with these kind of deals argue these things take a lot of time and the time it is taking is nothing extraordinary. Either you are comfortable with that and sit these swings out (or even trade a little on them), or perhaps this stock isn't for you and you should move to, dare I say, something like Exxon.
I get your point here Ad...but I don't know that "investing" on faith is always a good idea... faith as.. hope of things promised... works for me in my actual faith in God... but not in a "of the world" corporation... One, unequivocally will come through... the other, unequivocally will fail you.
With that said... I think it is reasonable for us to question IOC/management on this process and to not go blindly on faith.
If anyone here - in the last week, month or - so had posted the "Hession's Strategy" of not being part of the LNG operation, etc, etc., I think they would have been blistered by many on this board...
There is a lot of "rah-rah" going on, and a tendency to create a completely new narrative to fit the want.
There is legitimate concern... and it needs to be heard
It isn't just faith, there is that resource, these prospects and leads..
The faith part comes in where you think that thes will start to be monetized within a reasonable time frame, but these resources aren't going anywhere. Sooner or later at least some of them will get monetized, stuff like E/A is simply too big and too good not to be monetized.
In a time of internet speed financial patience, it's taxing patience though, I understand that.
