If nothing else the delays and negative slants will cause more shares to bail early on any significant rise, that is unless any deal made involves an immediate and readily understandable value. Even then there will be plenty of shares owned by the risk intolerant that will be sold early.

I suppose the rumor about IOC execs going to P G this weekend had no basis. Longs and shorts both now seem to be making stuff up.
