I have not been a part of a Wall Street IB deal but have been a part of a private IB deal. Similar though not the exact same. True, they only get paid when deal is done, but they work other deals at the same time so this may not be their only focus. I have seen deals come and at the last inute fall through for any number of reasons. HJowever, when they fall through, unless there is a major material change in assets or environment the second, third or forth time around does not usually bring about a better deal. Like in real estate often your first deal is the best. Just get the F-ing thing done!!!!!
