60 Minutes did a segment on jobs and robotics last night, I believe it was a replay of a piece done earlier this year. The point of that segment was the loss of manufacturing and service jobs to robotics. Just think of the last time you bought an airline ticket from a person over the counter. I still see a bank teller every few weeks but do more business with ATMs. How about answering machines? All jobs now taken over by computers. Then of course manufacturing where the feature included an easily programmed $22K robot that lasted three years and could take over simple manufacturing line work at the "salary" of $3.20/hr.
Lots of economic elements make this recovery more challenging than those in the past when viewed only by the jobs numbers. Things have been pretty good for those with jobs not living paycheck to paycheck.
