My view on the matter is a bit different than yours. The more time which passes without any bad news, the more the company will start to build confidence with the retail consumer. In the counting days of a merger, a buyout, etc the stock tends to grow 10-20%.

I think you're right on the time and confidence part. The idea of a merger/buyout is probably not on the table. The company has stated before, multiple times, that they will not sell at these levels.
