We all agree that, for the time being, Nautilus has enough cash to carry on until the end of the year or slightly beyond that. As far as other options are concerned, it is indeed tempting to think that a Chinese businessmen, Mr Barwani or a Russian oligarch will come to the rescue should PNG be unable to enlarge its own share. That's what we all hope would happen, myself included. However, the reality is that PNG is not Greece and not broke. Rather, the government of PNG has signalled that investing in the Solwara I JV is not a priority at this point in time. We have no other context information on how PNG arrived at this conclusion and can only hope that in six months' time their assessment will have changed.
The fact that the stock price has doggedly refused to move beyond, say, 0.55 despite milestone after milestone being announced from Nautilus Minerals indicates that the market is still waiting for more significant breakthroughs following the agreement that was reached between PNG and the company last spring. The Nautilus story is out there, in some of the world's major newspapers (s. one of my earlier posts), waiting to be picked up and discussed. For whatever reason, scepticism still prevails in the investor community. In light of this subdued market sentiment, and in view of the protracted delay that PNG caused to the project prior to said agreement, any renewed signs of potential funding shortfalls not so far ahead future should warrant caution.
Bottom line: I too would like to see Nautilus succeed and as everyone else on this board, I have read the latest press releases documenting the progress made in assembling the various pieces of equipment. While I am not disputing the latter, the market's assessment of this venture continues to remain very sober while PNG has just signalled that the decision about the next cash infusion is something that can wait for another six months.
Dear observer,
- Nautilus already have a Russian oligarch behind its back, and a very powerful one... (see http://www.metalloinvest.com/en/about/go...e/founder/)
- If you want to short the stock - please do so - I would like to buy more shares...
- People like you will make the ones that actually post valuable information, stop doing so and we will get converted into another yahoo forum (the place, we all ran from...)
Thanks
