Excellent article and shows what happens eventually when a major part of the world economy goes through a paradigm shift and economies like those in the ME are based almost wholly on that element. The industrial revolution brought the ME great riches and they never did much other than sit back and get content on those riches. Peak oil theories have been blown out of the water and the price of oil literally broke the camel's back.
This instability is not necessarily an overall good thing however. As always the ME will be even more the center of the world's attention for a good while.
