What Has PNG Government Said?

[admin]

Botten has said the government was supportive, but he also said that he expected a government statement to be coming shortly after he was speaking on his cc.  Has anything actually surfaced?   Botten has positioned OSH as lynch pin in PNG energy development, but does anyone doubt that XOM and TOT will be making all of the decisions?   My hope is that the government believes that the "Melanesian way" works better with more players rather than fewer.

Well, PNG is a substantial shareholder in OilSearch, they're not going to rock this boat.
