What is interesting is the oil minister said many weeks ago that something big was going to happen and he would be announcing shortly. Never occurred but might he have known about this deal in advance. Like way in advance.

Very interesting.  Where can that statement be found?  Do you have a link.  If we're going to continue to be invested in PNG, then need to pay much closer attention to that guy.

  RNZ interview with Ben Micah, March 29.  He mentioned 2 trains for Papua LNG, but the context about announcements was broad and could be interpreted as end of year rather than imminent.  He was on conference circuit and apparently was available to the press, so whatever he may have said could be construed to whatever narrative suited him, or those who want to quote him. He is a politician.
