I'm pretty sure the IMF wants the euro to succeed though.. 
By the way, if the euro fails the UK won't escape many of the consequences, and much of the 'schadenfreude' they already had, so it's not good for them either.
The root problem though, the euro zone is a systemic crisis and it has been misdiagnosed by many (but not Pritchard, in my view).
