“Downdrafts in the SPX are associated with upmoves in the VIX, and I don’t think either move has come to its culmination yet. Volatility tends to follow periods of complacency, which you could argue was the case in August,” she said. Stockton thinks that the VIX could get to 28 before it reaches a tradable low. In other words, there may be more pain ahead for stocks before it gets better.

There is a lot of talk out there about the auto-loan market right now. The default rates for auto loans in oil-producing regions in the US have been jumping, while hedge fund honcho Jim Chanos has said the auto-lending market should "scare the heck out of everybody.". John Oliver has used time on his show, "Last Week Tonight," to highlight the ways some used-car dealerships take advantage of people.

Investors who think stocks and bonds are overvalued are in a record majority compared to those who think they're not, according to Bank of America Merrill Lynch.  On Tuesday, the bank published results of its Global Fund Manager Survey which found that on net, 54% of respondents say the combined valuation of both asset classes is close to all-time highs. Since his election, Duterte has continued to encourage the public to take the law into its own hands. "Please feel free to call us, the police, or do it yourself if you have the gun — you have my support," Duterte said in early June, according to the Associated Press. If a drug dealer resists arrest or threatens a citizen, Duterte went on, "you can kill him ... Shoot him and I'll give you a medal."
