How much more info we need to connect the dots? I can't believe this isn't getting more attention both here and on Yazoo. THIS IS EWC NEWS AND IT IS HUGE!!! I would have bet all of my marbles that EWC was out but seems O'Neill has a very open mind and wants to shorten timeframes.
Not only was EWC considered out Tarules, but "kicked to the curb", "never a viable option", etc etc. Amazing what can happen when cooler heads prevail and certain people get out of the way, and agreements are honored. Also, shouldn't we expect that EWC would work with the likes of Siemens and Chart to address/correct questions of efficiencies in a mid-sized LNG modular plant so that it's competitive? That's what engineers do.

When someone else is fronting you the money to build an LNG plant what does one do??? Answer:Accept the money and EWC has two modules for delivery the EWC Co stated on their web site. I see IOC and O'Neil being the best of friends there is so much they can for each other.Henry's vision, genius is coming to pass. If EWC can deliver those modules quickly it removes any financing issues. They are already financed and paid for. I think thats only 1 mtpa though. Nice start on monetization. If this happens.

My gut says the EWC connection is for the gov; not necessarily for IOC's part of the project. Much more flexibility for EWC and the government when they work together. Their goals align very well.

Wouldn't a gas fired power plant in PM needs to be fed from either PNG LNG feedstock or future finds in ppl 236?
Since PNG LNG dry gas cost is about 15 times more expensive than E/A, it would not make sense for PNG to purchase gas from XOM and PNG has no gas agreement with PNG LNG. It would make most sense that the PM power plant would be fed by E/A gas delivered by XOM subsea pipeline. Which would imply XOM would be somewhere in Gulf LNG or in IOC upstream.

Correctamente meeeester Tree. Remember that part of the PNG LNG project was to be sized to aid in future development. In this case the pipeline could handle gas conditioned at EA, especially since we know there is a spur at Karema. Once the gas gets to PM XOM's goes to its plant and the government could split some off to go to this gas-fired plant and/or an EWC modular LNG plant. That LNG plant could be situated at Napa Napa I'm sure. Then when Karema is ready for development another gas-fired plant could be put there very easily. It's all a matter of working together and EWC already has the blueprint for doing this; its in Indonesia. Then for Lae its done again. Most likely that would be done through the agreement EWC signed with that province. They have some smaller fields there that EWC has already looked at and the Province went to Parliament some time ago asking for licenses for EWC to do this. I bet that suddenly gets going. I posted that article some time ago on the black hole they now call Yazoo.
The other thing to take from the article is that O'Neill said they are going to look at an LNG project that is "similar to ours". After thinking about that the reference to ours is I think PNG LNG not EWCs LNG project since that's still in early stages. I think they are looking at the EWC power plant but then looking at the KOGAS/Mitsubishi plant at he invitation of both Indon and KOGAS/Japan. Could be a tip; looking at most pieces of players in Gulf. I think we'll be surprised to see what all is being put together for approval.

Ok so it's been basically laid out here and now I present to y'all what me thinks is going on. Pretty simple really because once again we have the blueprint out there. Remember when project Zebra (that fictitious event that spawned my Gravitar). The original idea was that a crustacean company would join with Petromin and help Petromin become a "real" national oil company. It was said PNG wanted to pattern itself after none other than Indonesia and have several majors involved in developing the country's O&G industry. JFT mentioned Pertamina and could the be involved at Gulf somehow. I don't think directly, but I think they are part of the blueprint for PNG. Pertamina a national company and is a partner in many projects in Indon. They are a major partner in most projects including the Sulawesi project with KOGAS and Mitsubishi. They are high priority on domestic use of gas as well as working with partners in building LNG for export to enhance returns and incentivize those majors. It's working there and will work in PNG. The Gulf project will be the PNG blueprint going forward and IOC will be appreciated for working wih Oneill and the NEC to make it happen. And how can the majors fight it? They've done it in Indon.
Here is a link to a presentation by Pertamina from September that explains how it works in Indon. Bet this is what we see in PNG starting with Gulf. http://www.ieej.or.jp/aperc/LNG2012ccp/s...tamina.pdf This will also involve EWC with power plants and more working with the government.

Thailand and Malaysia all or part could play a role. Fits with the Petromin dream. |
