Happy indeed.

Try 10,000.

Google Shaq Home or Romney Homes. Duma's taste is significantly more pedestrian. Still, I think I'd be happy to trade 1,000 shares for his digs.

It's $600K.  And $600K won't buy much in NYC.  I was also expecting a real mansion, but my house is better than Duma's.  If he'll just cooperate very nicely on IOC, I might sell him mine, or even swap.  He'd find many more sunny days in central Texas, and deer in the back yard.

Although you didn't said or suggest it, Gator, but this info comes from a website called "PNGexposed" There isn't any evidence of any wrongdoing here on the part of Duma, and without possession of the full facts, we're not really in a position to suggest that either, that's stuff for the courts, if and when applicable. In short, I'm not really in favor of lynching parties on the basis of someone possessing a nice house. That isn't a crime.

I don't see where Gator mentioned a "lynching."  In fact, I don't see where he mention, or even alluded to any wrong doing!  The question I have based on his post is, how does a government beaurocrat save enough money to buy a $600,000 house in a foreign country?  I have seen this very same question pop-up in many countries......even some in Europe.

Yes, yes, I know, according to some, all government bureaucrats are criminals by definition, just because they're, well, government bureaucrats. You might have read my post a little better before booting in, I specifically mentioned that Gator didn't mention, or even suggest any wrongdoing.

I also mentioned the name of the website, which is called "PNG exposed"

And here are just a few possibilities of how a government bureaucrat might have a $600,000 house in a foreign country:

  • He might have inhererited it
  • He might have been (or still is) a wealthy businessman
  • His wife might be wealthy

ALL I'm saying is that the mere fact that he has a $600,000 house doesn't mean anything in and by itself and I won't allow this turning into a witch hunt just on the basis of this.

Perhaps you know of some people who believe "all government bureaucrats are criminals by definition", but I don't see where I or anyone else on this tread said or alluded to this!  Yes, you did say that the information comes from the PNG exposed website, but this information merely states the fact that Duma has a $600,000 house in Australia.  So where are you getting the notion that someone here is accussing Duma of wrong doing?  I merely put forth a very logical  question regarding the cost of his "off shore" home.  And finally, you put forth a list of "might haves" which "could" by some stretch of the imagination be true, but when you also factor in the bribe from Shell, the picture changes significantly...wouldn't you say?  In any event, I really don't care.  All I'm interested in is to see my investment in IOC make me rich, so feel free to protect/defend poor innocent Mr. Duma from the witch (warlock?) hunt.
