It's a small move that he knows will spark more selling and allow him (along with some others) to take control of IOC 4. It's a move by his portfolio mgr to lighten up on O&G 5. He needed some cash for ??? I'll say that I'm leaning toward the number which represents Ohio State's QB that was able to win their last 3 games. He was their #3 QB at the beginning of the year.

I wish, however what would we get for IOC now? One ADR of TOT for every share of IOC?

Chandler sold 10% of his holdings in IOC. I heard it was part of an overall strategy to lower his energy exposure and increase some liquidity. I heard a rumor to this in December, so I was a bit surprised that he waited until January. Maybe he felt IOC would rebound in January after all the tax loss selling was over (No such luck). Of course his sells at $44.85 and $42 don’t look so bad when IOC hit $37 today. It takes a special kind of stock (and management team) to be down 24% in the first 8 trading days of the year.

Don’t worry; I am sure the shares will be picked up by the new world class management team. I see our new directors Armstrong and Hirschfield have already been granted rights for 2,054 shares each. Not bad for 1 months work.

Gator, I think you're probably right about the reason.

I feel certain that is not the case.

You seem to have a habit of identifying and expessing supposed reasons to be fearful, which its seems usually prove to be unjustified.  Wonder why?

Palm, assuming your #3 is correct, do you have any likely scenarios of how this will play out?

Na; just farting around to get Croozer geeked about his Buckeyes winning the NC. Chandler was trimming for margin calls most likely. Hey, maybe we can get Urban to come be IOC's CEO. He knows how to look odds in the eye and say "F you". Or was that Herbstreit?

Urban is good at motivating the troops, but alas we already have plenty of cheerleading/motivational/pumping types invovled with IOC.  If we wanted an Urban type, we should not have gotten rid of Phil hohoho.

Now you sound like one of Sam Attar's tweets yesterday:

"Memo to Phil Mulacek When you were scamming investors at InterOil the stock hit $100/share.  At $39/share, it needs you back." $IOC

Don't think of Urban as a cheerleader; his ways get the desired results.

I heard Chandler made a macro move of selling 10% of all his oil & gas holdings.
