The major difference between the US and the Chinese economies has been the Delta (rate of change). The US has had slower steady growth (plow horse) but had been growing faster YOY and China (and most of the rest of the world) had not. The pace of growth had decelerated around the world just as the US if (finally) gets a little momentum.

Stavros, I think you're wrong about a recession in the U.S., I think we will see a revision in GDP around 3%, muddling through yes but not a recession.
