The Amazing Cramer

http://wallstcheatsheet.com/stocks/cramer-buy-panera-and-sell-h-p-interoil-and-this-share-today.html/

This bozo has a cable TV show called "Mad Money" or "Fast Money" or "Money Mad" or something on the CNBC network (biggest ratings of financial networks). He has bashed InterOil previously at convenient times (i.e., to end a rally) . He is either totally clueless of the IOC story or he's in with a short hedge fund. Either way, I am betting big he's wrong.

The confluence of commentary, news "spin" and manipulation are the only factors in Friday's trading that I see, Liked the BIG volumes in the last hour.

Just want to add, since I don't post often, that your sharing of honest information is much appreciated here.

Most helpful are the learned comments on daily trading patterns "made on the fly." It's good to know how others interpret the data. I would like to propose an onrunning T.O.O.T. thread -- standing for Trading Observations On Today --  say, "toot3/11/12" for Monday. I know I am not alone in checking the board hourly some days to help grasp what's happening. I also think it would be a useful archive. FWIW

I truly doubt Cramer is acting selfishly on IOC.......However, I do believe he is acting IRRESPONSIBLY as it's clear that he has spent NO time assessing the underlying assets of IOC or the principles invloved in the project.  He merely focuses on earnings......and that is it.  At this stage of development earnings are not the way to understand the inherent value in IOC.   It will be interesting to see if Cramer does a re-assessment of his error AFTER the fact or ignores his error.   I suggest that WE make sure he hears us after the value becomes apparent to even the thickest of "talking heads".

Mark,

I would suggest you read the Deep Capture website before you draw any conclusions.  Clearly, with very convincing evidence, Cramer is in very deep with the hedge fund managers.

Good luck longs.

Good luck longs.

Thanks "Will"

Fascinating reading ... how do we get the Deep Capture Team to investigate the IOC shenanigans and how Cramer is behind the scenes with the rest of the Inglorious Basterds?

Sadly this is all true.  Greenberg is despicable.  There are many  smart, long term institutional investors that are scared to own names like an IOC or HLF because of  the fear these guys create.  IOC's answer is to announce the deal.  Perhaps there is another Icahn out there who will try to feast  on the cornered shorts.  Blood in the water will bring sharks.

The best "deep capture" show ever was run by Jon Steward on Comedy Central

http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-ma...ial-advice

That show should have been given the Nobel award for economics. The principle "retort" came from Cramer in his interview with Jon Stewart March 12, 2009:

http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-ma...d-sell-die
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-ma...r-pleading
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-ma...view-pt--1
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-ma...amer-pt--2
http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/thu-ma...amer-pt--3

The real bookend to March 4, 2009 actually though was set that day in the clip:

We don't quite know yet the "rest of the story"

I suppose I should have ended with the March 4 "Moment of Zen"

http://www.thedailyshow.com/watch/wed-ma...-mad-money

Interestingly, Obama stated the day before (3/3/2009), in response to questions from the press following talks with Gordon Brown, that it was probably time to start buying stocks. (http://www.cbsnews.com/8301-503544_162-4...03544.html). In doing so, Obama missed calling the Dow Industrial bottom by five days. The Dow Industrial on March 9, 2009 hit its recession low of 6547.05.

Cramer's advice? Not so good.
