The investing party and the bidding party for part of IOC could be a Multi Billion dollar(US) Thai company thats publicly traded. Called PTT and they bid Billions for Cove Energy. Its not the Thai government. This company has Billions of cash on hand for an investment like buying into IOC. This is an NOC and Wayne told us an NOC was bidding for a portion of IOC . Wayne did not name the NOC though. Most think the NOC is PTT. The Utility is Kogas and one of the Super Majors is Exxon.

Hey Palm,

This line from your post says it all:

Mr. Kalinoe made these remarks on the occasion of the signing ceremony in Tokyo of the Commitment Agreement between InterOil and Mitsui in front of the Prime Minister, Grand Chief Sir Michael Somare on Tuesday 30th March, 2010.

This deal is going to be announced with the PNG government, IOC and the winning bidder.  Clearly it takes time to get all these people together and I would be thrilled if it happens this week. So very very close........

6 days down, losing over a $1 a day, if this continues we are in the low 60's by end of month. A no legs stock needs a press release sooner rather than later, get the boys together. Reason, losing over $55 million a day. Shorts are driving it down to cap or  trying  to manage the pps rise and doing an excellent job.

There is some recent support in the $67 range. Shorts are driving it down to that range and nervous longs are probably helping them.  Massive support in the $56-57 range.

FWIW, I will probably buy some calls if it trades below $68 before any announcement. We are now approaching oversold in the short term charts.

Yes could be. My point was simply that a visit from a Thai PM ( a very embattled, internationally laughged at one), has zero rellationship to an IOC deal. I also have good reason th know that PTT has its plkate full. If I;m wrong I'll treat you amd the wife to the Palm. or SM or Ben's...you r choice

Ah appears you miss the point Bert. The preferred bidder should be JKM. PTT did bid for Cove last year and they were taken seriousely by the market and they have raised Billions recently.Everyone knows that. So right before you visit Japan you visit another bidder(PTT) and get some committment from them( Most think they PTT were a bidder) and negotiate from strength with that with whom you really want to do business .
Conversation goes something like this.
We have an offer thats compelling from (fill in the blank someone else) but we really would prefer to do business with you(Japan) how can we work this out?(Negotiating ploy. used many times a day).We wait.Play one against the other.

Really Eller?  Your comment might be the most narrow minded thing I have heard in a while.  I am sure that IOC can just call up O'Neill, Shinzo Abe, John Watson, or Rex Tillerson and tell them, drop whatever the hell you are doing and get your asses to the IOC Houston office because IOC has to announce a deal because our pps is dropping 1 dollar a day (while ignoring that it just went from 55-71 in the past 45 days).

Put yourself into the shoes of the IOC executive, understand for a minute that they are the minnows in a ocean full of sharks, and realize that if you want to maintain a solid business relationship, that you don't demand anything, you abide by the schedules and wishes of your sugar daddys.

In 2 weeks time you won't even remember the 1 dollar/day for 6 day decline.

Maybe the big boys can't make it in two weeks, then what. See you in the 60's tomorrow and hopefully not in the 50's while we wait
