Must of been that e-mail DP/SFO got this morning from CS client with instructions to close their lending accounts. Ouch... some shorty has to pay 150% more to play above Chuck's previous rate.

Many of those lent shares will be recalled soon. I wonder how the PPS will perform??

I have one block of shares lent at an annual rate of 65% and another at 45%. What rates are others seeing?

Dave-Anyone willing to pay those type rates is out of their mind desperate for shares to borrow. They know a deal is immenient and can't see a way out without PAYING these type rates. Rumor at Merrill one borrower of shares is pushing hard for any shares he can get everyday. Very few shares are being lent out. I think helping the shorts is not the way to go. None of my shares are lent out.Why help the shorts.

jft310, I estimate that I am loaning out 0.2% of the shares that are shorted. Thus, the shares I shorted have little or no impact on the share price. However, I have the pleasure of several thousand dollars of additional daily cah flow. Dave

Oh, here comes the sun!

The fact that some idiot is willing to pay you that type daily income tells the tale. They are desperate and are trapped and see there only way out to short more during the window between the bids received and the winner announced. I deal in options and when IOC is weak I sell puts in the money and buy calls in the money on weakness.I think that the best approach ve loaning out shares. We make $10,000's doing that. Loaning shares is like helping the enemy. If someone is betting against me I don't help them. I get even. The premium on selling options is off the wall rich. So get some free money is my take. And I am not helping the enemy.
