MEDIA RELEASE - PM O'NEILL MEETS EXECUTIVES OF TOTAL
PM O’NEILL MEETS EXECUTIVES OF GLOBAL GIANT - TOTAL
For Release – Thursday 25th April, 2013
Executives of global giant, Total met with Prime Minister Peter O’Neill today and declared their keen interest in oil and gas exploration in the country.
Total, a French company, is number 2 in the LNG business in the world.
They already have a partnership agreement with Oil Search for exploration in the country, but want to carry out more under this partnership or on their own.
The company, with its headquarters in Paris, recently opened an office in Singapore with PNG in mind.
“We are very excited about PNG. We see this country as a land of opportunity. You have vast resources that can attract a lot of investors to your shores,” said Jean-Marie Guillermou, President of Exploration and Production in the Asia Pacific region.
“Asia is a booming market for LNG, and PNG presents an exciting opportunity for us in upstream (exploration). We want to be here for the long term,” Mr Guillermou said.
Mr O’Neill welcomed their keen interest in investing in the LNG sector.
“PNG is a vibrant democracy with a strong economy that is growing. We have been producing oil for over 20 years and our LNG is now about to take off.
“I’m pleased with your partnership with Oil Search. You have chosen a strategic partner in this business. The government is open to investment that will provide opportunities for our people, and we will support you in your endeavours,” the Prime Minister said.
Approved for release!

This is just tragic.........
So, BoD reviews bids, has a favorite last weekend, Phil can't stomach the choice or is removed as a pre-condition. BoD on PNG and reported Gulf bidder TOT meets with O'Neill for the oral interview part of the beauty pageant. Game on suckas.
"The development decision will be recommended by strategic partner and PNG will decide and approve the best commercialisation opportunity" - Collin

And Wayne said this in Platt's article yesterdy:
"Now the PNG government is involved in the negotiations, and that should help us move forward and achieve FID [final investment decision]. These negotiations are complex and of such fundamental importance to InterOil and our future, that it is appropriate to conclude these in a methodical and thorough manner, and that is exactly what we are doing," Andrews added.

Earth to whoever: The government of PNG controls the asset. This is not a new thing. This is why IOC FID has languished for the past couple of years. Total SA meeting with O'Neil to kiss the ring? Three horse race confirmed. Whatever happens is going to be a big effin deal.

I recall from the wilderness years that the principles of IOC met with Total.
As the Big Picture changes.
Cheers

Miss France, what would you do with 10 Ts gas?
"I'd make sure all the Asians had plenty of clean natural gas in the form of LNG. I would do my best to stop the use of Oil and coal that cause global warming and would make the world a better place by teaching the PNG mountain men that beheading witches, shrinking heads and making penis soup out of your enemies does not make them one with the universe"

Let's recap:
O'Neill: The Interoil Project must happen and my administration will help Interoil advance their project. Now we must get our own house in order. OK now we've done that with the planned disbanding of Petromin. Now who is interested in this project
Japan: We invite your administration to come to Japan and while you are here we need to inform you of the misinformation we received from Petromin on the project, and let's sign a new agreement between JAPEX and Petromin. This is obviously to do with the Gulf LNG project and more.
Thailand: Please come to Papua and while you are here we want to establish relations and open opportunities for you to help us develop our Petroleum resources.
Shell: Well, we were invited to be your consultant and first entered through the back door but that was because we forgot we were down under and got mixed up. You were so kind Mr O'Neill to straighten us up and guide us to the front door and we very much want to fulfill our obligations here and Gulf LNG is perfect for us.
Exxon: For I am the King of the fooooorest! And we were the first once to commit to LNG for PNG AND we are delivering. You kind of mucked things up for us and cost us time and lots of money. We NEED more gas for up to 5 trains. We want a piece of this action badly.
JKM: Yes we need LNG in case you didn't know and we can bring financing and cost blowout guarantees by the way. Much aid has come from our countries and we'd like a little return favor. We bring great expertise and we have many contractors who can operate the LNG plant; piece of cake.
Total: Bon jour Mr O'Neill. We are the 2nd largest in the world for LNG. We have recently surrounded Interoil with our farm in options with OSH (your local darling). It makes very much sense for us to develop Gulf resources and help develop that area. We are more than interested.
There you have it folks this year's beauty contestants. They have all been vying to wear the Miss Gulf LNG crown. Who will judge O'Neill choose? Who has been handed to him as Interoil's favorite?
Stay tuned

Well... well... well... as they say, if you have not been to Paris, you have not seen the world.
One may surmise that OSH has been. Such is a tread?
