Today's News/Stock Action

With the hiring of Dr. Michael Hession I believe IOC has likely hired the most qualified man available for the job/position of CEO. We need someone who is knowledgeable about exploration, LNG project construction and business management.

How does he qualify based on his education? He has a Bachelor’s degree in Geology, a PHD degree in Geophysics and an MBA degree.

How does he qualify based on experience? He has worked on some of the world’s major projects, both conventional oil and gas production, including one of the largest LNG projects. In these projects he has held senior positions with major oil and gas producers, having worked for BP and Woodside Petroleum Ltd., the largest oil and gas producer in Australia. To quote from the PR “Dr. Hession has over 25 years of international exploration, operation and commercial experience, most recently as a Senior Vice President at Browse LNG Development”.

So why is the share price acting so squirrelly? Looks like we had the usual short attack on good news that drove the share price down about $2 and the investors are still saying to IOC “show me the money”. We need the deal with Exxon to close. Further we need to bring in some new partners in all of the license areas as alluded to by Dr. Hession where he said “we expect to bring in additional partners to accelerate our activities”. I believe this work is already in progress and I look forward to announcements beyond the Exxon/IOC deal. Now we are making a come back with the help of the RJ article. We could use a little input from the other Analysts.

No one wants to hear this but the shorts are still in control. Good luck denying this in the face of today's action.

Same pattern will repeat on deal news IMHO. IOC needs to announce the deal news with XOM and in addition announce:
1. Stock buyback
2. One time divi
3. Stock split
4. Additional analyst coverage
5. Investor dog and pony road show

They need to fight fire with fire or the shorts will be haunting longs forever.

I don't know the answer but the SEC or management or both better figure out who has the boot on the throat of IOC.  Was it a coincidence that the stock came available in the last few weeks and the Citron article comes flying out of nowwhere ( this is just a smoke screen for a coordinated attack) to counter great news.  This just starts to get really old time and time again.  Cannot wait to see what they have up their sleeve for the deal announcement.

Forget the SEC. This manipulation is way beyond their capabilities. If the company and most longs are of the opinion that improved financials will take care of the short problem, then they are in for a very rude awakening. The company needs to be extremely proactive at countering the shorts and implement strategies that essentially force most of them to cover. Did I mention to forget the SEC? The marketplace is littered with BK public companies that pleaded with the SEC to stop the short manipulation. Just research Imergent (now EXE) for a perfect example of a company that never fully recovered from an endless short problem. IOC can kill the shorts but they need to be much more proactive than in the past.

I want to convince IOC management and the big longs. The first question to Wayne should not be "when are we going to drill Ant 4?" but what are we going to do about the short problem.

"Drill baby drill" will do nothing for the share price IMO.

Thank you for your knowledgeable and sobering thoughts, TA. The facts certainly seem to be with you as here are the facts: 1. IOC is about to announce a deal with Exxon, the world's most successful corporation. This is not an "IOC claim," but a verified fact by Exxon itself. 2. IOC has hired an exceptional executive to be the new CEO. 3. The stock sits circa $68, basically unmoved on the day and off nearly 40% from weeks ago. Will the facts of an actual selldown, when it happens shortly, actually change things? We've always thought so, but will we be here in a few weeks explaining to each other that even though we've had the selldown announcement we still can't expect the stock to move much higher because of "such and such" reason, and the shorts are REALLY SCREWED when "such and such" happens. I hope not, but I, like TA and Admin, am very concerned.

I hope management is paying attention to your wisdom of your message Taru..They need to fight these s.o.b's with fire..This is a criminal gang that will otherwise continue to persist in their illegal and criminal activities..Do you hear us MANAGEMENT??????  put out even a relatively small divi of $15, and you have those like Tilson crying out for the mistakes they've made being short...WAKE up and FIGHT..Ya don't head out to a gun fast draw situation with a water gun......Owner since 2008 of substantial shares...I'll throw in a PLEASE!!

Not sure why that is necessary:

The prettiest girl in the bar is NEVER asked if she has a purse full of cash?

I think mega-cash in the bank and steady monthly cash flow on production is the only real short killer.

They've created an aura of controversy that prevents broad retail buying.  In my 6 years they've continually thrown mud at IOC to perpetuate the controversy in the face of any and all news. Any and all promises and potential have been and still are discounted to zero.  I can't see them stopping until we have cash in the bank and monthly cash flow.

What strategy could management execute today to counter the onslaught besides promises and potential?  Better promises and more potential have not worked.

We'll win, but until we do.....

We Soldier On.
