So T+3 (trade date + 3 business days) is when trades are settled. Law. But it doesn't always happen. A certain firm may not want to force a buy in(deliver the shares you shorted to me) from a particular broker (even a big like MS) who may have an important hedge fund client. It can be considered "bad form" to do so. Depends on the parties involved but I have personally seen traders afraid to force a buy in on a failed trade. This doesn't include obviously the intraday naked shorting that occurs.

I don't think traditional long only institutional managers will step in here. Not in thier benchmarks. Perhaps managers or underperforming hedgies will. Most are risk averse. I have the highest regard for this management team as I did the Nov $15 calls ( < $1 late today) with significant catalysts ahead. I recently added at $22 (oops), $11 and $9. This is a six sigma opportunity, similar to buying IOC in lows $30s intraday in late Sept. '11, IMO.

Any clue how long it takes for them to make a fuss? I know this isn't very well enforced but if they have this as a tool to leverage, longs are in for the winter

For those worried about the AH pps right now please remember that NQ is now the only stock on the Reg SHO list...this is still a very shorted and manipulated stock...I believe the CC could help clear things up shortly

Thought everyone may want to know that yesterday was the first day since the MW report that NQ was not on the Reg SHO list....could be interesting over the next few days as we see less ppl shorting and eventually people starting to cover
