        Commenting on the results, InterOil chief executive Dr Michael Hession said, ...

        "Negotiations with a number of supermajors regarding the monetization of our gas resources are in the final stages. We expect to be able to make an announcement on the selection of our development partner before year end".
        

  I don't see that Hession has said anything more than that they will announce a partner.  Does anyone read this to say that a deal will be signed by year end, or anything definite about a deal will be announced other than a partner?  It certainly sounds like a deal is coming, but I can't quite convince myself that the company will announce what it is before Dec. 31 2013.

Subsequently referred to as Triceratops.  The A stands for ...???... Almost?  I believe we can thank the Almighty it isn't "SPRL" because the S might stand for  "soon".

Art, I think we and Hession should be spared your bitter sarcasm for now.  I think the new CEO should be given the benefit of the doubt until such time as he might earn the reputation and sarcasm previously perhaps earned by Mulacek and others.  We get enough of that from Yazoo shorts without your continuing to chime in.

As a multi-year veteran IOC long I have found a little gallows humor to help myself (and perhaps others on rare occasion) through the bumpy times.  The statements made by IOC yesterday were pretty soft.

However

With the clarity provided on the CC I feel there is nowhere for shorts to hide any longer.  The repeated statements of Hession of industry standard, transparent, cash reward upfront proposals in hand from multiple mega-majors with the ability and intent to conclude the transformational deal by year end could not be more clear.  I am however torn between deciding which is greater:  my excitement over those statements or my excitement over the statements that boots are on the ground already preparing (clearing sites etc.) for a major 2014 drilling program involving four rigs.

Maybe though I should be most excited by the stock currently being up 10+ in high volume.
