Morgan Stanley Released, But Not The Other Investment Banks
#1

Why would Interoil release one investment bank from the negotiations, thus the report, but not the other two?  Can we discern something from this knowledge in relation to who the transformational deal is with or the timing of the announcement?

You do not know that they did not release the others. The only reason you know that MS is released is because they have a research report out with the disclaimer.

I am told specifically that the others are not released.

I think the three IB's were assigned different geographies, although unfortunately, I don't know the details of that so I can't yet exclude any geographical area as one where our partner might originate from.

That is my understanding as well, admin.

The inference I draw from the MS release is that there are 2 or more deals in the wings awaiting an introduction to IOC shareholders.

I would wonder if MS was working with XOM for PNG LNG and that deal is done. now the others are working with TOT and RDS for GULF LNG so they are still ongoing...

That makes some sense and would be quite good.  Thanks Ebster, and the others who put in their thoughts.

Makes sense.  Per Stavros' SA piece that TA posted here,  Morgan Stanley covered the US, UBS covered Europe (UBS), and Macquarie had Asia.

XOM (US) = done.  Shell (Netherlands) and Total (France) would be represented by UBS, leaving TBD to be represented by Macquarie.
