What is IOC's 30% LNG ownership worth?

Sam, I believe CV is gone because he has gotten the Company to this point, achieved significant wealth, sees a capable replacement available, and has been working across the continent from his family for seven years now.

Candid and realistic comments, but which I think probably lay out what could be the real worst case scenario, and not the one we end up with this year.

Good post, Jft.  It clearly states why IOC cannot/should not be compared to Iol Search, and why IOC has the potential to be a $30 billion company.  The only possible agreement I have with Mike regarding his reply to my post, is that I, too, believe that there is a chance that we may not attain the $30 billion valuation.  Not because it is a "pie in the sky" idea, but because I have a great fear that we will be bought out much earlier.  I just hope that Hession can deliver his goal of a $30 billion company!

As we sit here today at $51 if your biggest fear is being bought out for less than $600 I'm happy for you.

Thank you for your sincere good wishes, Mike.  Of course, you wish the same for Hession in his quest for a $30 billion company, right?

Also, would you please enlighten me as to when and where current management promised a spudding in January? What I heard was Wahoo in first quarter, and that has now been upgraded to all three exploration wells in first quarter, and up to three appraisal well and one exploration well in PRL 15 in 2014, per the Jan 13 presentation. That's progress in my book. The board hired Dr. Hession. Why would you think they need to approve hires under him, publicly or otherwise? Incentive programs they would need to approve. "Maybe it's time for you to stop your incessant" inaccuracies and negativism and presenting them "as reality".

It was pretty clear in the post deal CC that Hession expressed confidence the necessary IPI shares would be obtained in December, but "guaranteed" they would be obtained by this month.  I'm no Chicken Little running around saying the sky is falling but it hasn't happened yet.  IOC has yet to spud its first well under Hession. Site preparation?  We've seen and I've acknowleged site preparation, but before lauding Hession's accomplishments in that regard as JFT has done I am simply saying let's wait until it happens.  Should Dr. Hession be able to build his own team?  Yes.  But again, before putting them on the pedestal let's see something accomplished first.

What has been accomplished and revealed to the public to date is a series of incomplete deals which in total has generated a 40% drop in share price.  It certainly appears that anybody who knows what is going on isn't saying and anybody who is saying simply doesn't know.  The third option is nobody really knows what's going on, certainly a possibility that warrants consideration.

All that being said, it sure would be nice to know how the meeting with Duma went.  More crickets.  Pardon me for painting a picture which might not appear rosy.

Art, you did not really even address the specific inaccuracies I brought up, just generated more negative spin.  It's enough to make one wonder about your agenda.  Shorts used to claim adnauseum that there would be no deal because "it hasn't happened yet".  Guess what:  It happened, and happened when Hession said it would happen.

You don't think obtaining $250 million in new financing for exploration, ramping up available rigs to four and working on at least two more, accomplishing a lot of new seismic and research and new site selection and preparing sites and mobilizing rigs for four to six sites or more, for a company that has never drilled but one at the time before, are significant accomplishments?

You think the Company should reveal or characterize internal considerations or actions by the government before they are completed or the government is ready for them to be revealed?

Are you saying you think perhaps not even management "really knows what is going on"?

Do you think you could be satisfied if management took the time to give you a personal daily or weekly detailed update of all considerations and actions? Give us a break!!  Maybe you should do some of your posting elsewhere.

Please keep posting Art, it's refreshing.

Hession needs to deliver the mail - on time.

I think Art is trying to keep his realities in check as does everyone. Longs and shorts btw.

Accusing art as being short and questioning his agenda is absurd in my opinion and narrow minded. Talk of being worried ioc gets bought out at only 100 or 150 is even more absurd. We are sitting at 51 and change. If the ipi deal is not discussed as promised by the company's chief executive officer 7 weeks ago, I'm afraid that we will be taken down further. Shorts are already rumbling about the failed announcement.

Like it or not this is reality. Not pie in the sky. Let's hope that Hession can deliver on his word. Getit you are right. The week ain't over yet, but it sure is too close for comfort.

It is pretty simple yo me. MH was sold as the Hope and Change for IOC. He was suppose to "under promise and over deliver"...his words. He was suppose to bring about a new way of doing business. He is suppose to redirect the ship. I understand ocean liners do not stop and turn on a dime, but it was presented as though IOC could. IF MH does not close this IPI deal in four days the street will slam IOC's pps like the titanic on an iceberg. Even JFT and others touted MH for being ready to over deliver on under promises. If he could not do it he should not have said it....especially either IOC's history. Time will tell and I hope he does deliver.

I did not accuse Art of being short.  I compared some of his specific logic to the logic of some shorts.

I also did not suggest that he not post at all.

I think the shorts are winning in more ways than one. They have not only damaged the stock price, they have also damaged the psyche of many investors.

There has been a noticeable absence of most SHU posters fretting about the minority interest buy-out. That's because many investors far more knowledgeable than me on the subject know the IPI/PAC deal has moved along to the satisfaction of all parties. Hession and team are working hard.
