Thanks for that jft310.
Mind you this is just speculation on my part but it goes like this:
PPL 338 is the area where Triceratops potentially extends into, and OSH is farming into it.
From memory I read somewhere that Total is also joining or about to join OSH in this farm in. (sorry I cant remember where I saw this so take it with a grain of salt)
But is the above is true, then surely OSH and Total would rather use Triceratops gas for their own LNG plant than direct it to the Exxon one.
I also note that possible future gas for PNGLNG may be planned from other sources by these comments in various very recent OSH documents.
Quote:
During the quarter, the PRL 3 joint venture continued to advance technical, environmental and
social baseline field studies on the P’nyang gas field in PRL 3 (Oil Search – 38.51%), focused
on the potential development of P’nyang as a resource for PNG LNG Project expansion. The
final line of the 2D seismic programme over P’nyang was completed and a full re-evaluation of
all the seismic data commenced. Preparations for the submission of a development licence
application for the field will continue through 2014 based on studies completed in 2013.
A seismic programme over the Juha field in PDL 9 (Oil Search – 24.42%) recommenced during
the quarter. This programme will continue into the second quarter of 2014, with data also
planned to be acquired in PPL 260, to the north east.
PNG LNG expansion (Train 3) through development of P’nyang and/or Hides
upside and/or other Highland’s resources.
EndQuote.
Naturally I could well be way off base with my hunch, but it may be worth thinking about.
The waters have become so murky lately about what is happening in that area that I just don't have much confidence about any particular possible outcome that any of us have put forward at the moment. But it sure is interesting
