InterOil’s renaissance
#31
CAC- never assured anyone of squat. I reported the history of Interoil drilling. Historically drilled into the reserve rock and stopped and did a DST. That's as I have stated before was Phil M regime and this is the Hession regime. As I have stated in the past 30 feet of reservoir rock in the US is call up the marching bands. Antelope wells had 2000, and 2700 feet of pay . In the Presser they stated Raptor is Antelope like.
Others estimate results in 6-8 weeks post testing. Antelope 3 was 2 weeks as I stated before for the first DST after starting to set the liner. PetEngin estimated 2 weeks today to reset the liner and the limestone is soft and they historically average 300 feet a day in limestone. Will they perform a DST after penetrating the limestone is the question.????Or wait????

Getit, what isn't helpful is the pps being under the $57.17 avg buyback price that management decided to do. That should have put a floor under the pps as mgmt. should have had "ammo" coming to support pps. But all they did was spend an "over the next 12 months" $50 million in a little over one month. That action indicated to all of us that we could expect some real news by Sept 30. Instead we got a yawn of an update, which has resulted in pps below $50. Great cartoon Gator!

Palm, I agree with that, but tell me something I don't know.  I assume I still have a right to my opinions.  It's probably mostly the market that's killing the stock now, probably with shorts taking advantage of it.  I think another mistake they've made is not aggressively taking whatever action they could against the shorts.

Getit, if things had been handled properly, pps would be in low 60s now, not the high 40s. Even before the markets in general and the energy markets specifically dropped IOC was lagging due to perceived poor execution. You can only explain away so much before the sight zeroes in squarely on the management target. Shorts couldn't do their thing without the help of management. I don't believe it's "mostly" the market that's killing the stock.

Jft, I thought you wrote precisely this...

"Les sthan 2 weeks we will hear more about Raptor.Right above the limestone with 7 incher to drill ahead.  That's actually quite good news".

There was no mention at all in your post about it being a guestimate...you stated it as a fact.  There was also no mention that you were theorizing based on E/A history (or anything else)...it was just a forceful statement as if you really knew something.  Just as odd, with all three current wells way, way, way behind schedule, how much sense would it make to predict "two weeks" based on historical timelines (none of which seem to apply to this drilling crew) anyway?

Ughh.

The ball to watch is Ant 4 and 5 because those wells get us paid.
These 3 wells WBR were required to be drilled to keep the licenses. They are bonuses not requirements. Success or failure at these wells is a side bet not the big picture. Way to much attention has and is being paid on the side bet .
Finding even 4 T's at any/all of these wells has zero influence on Total and its build of IOC's LNG plant.
GCA stated with 2 more wells they figured if successful that GLJ and Knowledge Reservoir would be right with 9 some T's.
GCA comments from an analysts.
Thats the hot button focus on those results when they come in.
True finding assets at WBR could yield a $500 mill payment for Hession and a second LNG plant deal of some sort.
Today we don't have the results at WBR nor a second LNG deal .
What we have today is a deal with Total with 2 more wells to be drilled to confirm 9 plus T's.
Focus on that.
Invest in that .

No wonder the stock is tanking; he's taking us to the cleaners!!! I think that's $500K/T and it's in options.

So the spin now is the string of pearls is a side bet?  Wow.  As I've been saying, let's hope it's not Jed Clampett shooting at some food at A4 & A5.

Exactly my thoughts!!!!  The "string of pearls" theory has been expounded upon for years.  It will mean 50T, the new Arun, etc. Taking the stock to $300/400/500/1000.  Now it is nothing more than a side bet???  Really??

No one Pearl makes the story and E/A monetization is main driver BUT without TRI, and now one suspension and two way overdue wells its not a shocker that stock is where it's at, but to now dismiss the Pearls seems disingenuous.  I would not be invested if I thought it was all about E/A and there's nothing else out there.  Would not have been worth it.  I just don't understand the constant need to rationalize everything and respin to make it seem like most of us know nothing and being told what to focus on.  I know I am not alone.

I'm not so sure it makes much of a difference whether the other leads and prospects (the "string of pearls"Wink are a side bet or the main menu, what's clear is that:

  • E/A is way more certain, established, tied to concrete monetization and pay-out plans
  • While in theory the other prospects can offer the same, perhaps a few times over even (in the most fortuitous scenario), at present, this is just potential and way more uncertain and dependent on the monetization of E/A in order to be explored, let alone developed and monetized in the first place.

As side-bets go, it's a pretty attractive one (in the recent past, I wasn't against selling most, or even all of E/A in order to pursue it), but in the order of things, the term side-bet doesn't seem that much out of place to me, to be honest, and mostly semantic anyway.
