Technical: IOC Update
#1

On my work, I've been waiting for OBV volume reversal downturn to end.  It usually takes 3-5 days to be normal,  It can be longer, but some other things are converging that make me feel pretty good odds IOC is in a low area here.    First today is fifth down day, usually in a low area.  Second, Oil futures big expiration is this afternoon, and I feel it has good odds of being a pivot point to start a crude rally higher, at least short term.   So, if it helps, I feel IOC is ready  to trade higher again, first objective would be mid forties, fwiw....trans

Thanks for a good technical analysis and perspective, Trans.  Let's hope you turn out to be accurate!   I also like your 777! Smile

IOC bottoming today? Maybe trans just a little early.

TODAY was expiration and transition from Sept to Oct contracts for WTI crude oil, with some bounce up, at least temporarily.

These days IOC's price seems linked to that of oil. Maybe a name change would help, from Interoil to something like DirtcheapLNG.

Very rare overrun on the reversal downturn, although I've seen a few through the years. Todayis 8th consecutive reversal down day.  In the 7 years I've followed ioc, its had maybe one or two.  I also like to see selloffs into opt expirations and we are coming into one this weekend.   Sorry I gave the normal reversal, but short term pain should be relieved soon.  imo

I would say we see a 1-2 point drop in the vicinity of 32.5 to 33.5 on Monday( I would prefer the 2 pointer) followed by a strong rally (Croozian Reversal) to close positive on the day.  Buy with both hands at that point.  A close below 32.25 and God help us.

IOC pps May 1, 2015 = 51.94

IOC pps August 21, 2015 = 34.28  (down 17.66 or 34.00 %)

Brent Crude May 1, 2015 = 66.56.

Brent Crude August 21, 2015 = 45.31 (down 21.25 or 31.92%)

IOC tracking pretty close to Brent Crude downturn.

Tom - A pleasant and good evening to you .I read your post a couple of hours ago and decided to have an adult beverage ( to heck with the doctor) and sit out on the patio and contemplate your words . As I sat there sipping and thinking,I watched a red cardinal and a big blue jay (ten minutes apart) feast on some ripe figs on my neighbor's large fig tree. I thought back on what I did on Jan. 15 th of this year.On that day, after much agonizing within myself,I purchased " way too much more ioc at 33.51 .Was not the low of the day,but close. Was I smart....heck no, just believed strongly in our assets in our leases. Now after 7 tough months,we are faced with new challenges.....lower crude and ng prices. I believe more than ever now that with E/A and our TBR discoveries ,our assets are still very valuable. However, with the current situation, I am reluctant to try to repeat my Jan.15 th action . My courage ( and my capital)  are not as strong as they were at that time. If I can regain my courage between now and Monday, I might try to add with one hand, but can't with both . Some SM may try to buy (steal) us at good price (for them) in the next few months, but I guess it will depend (if they do) on what our BOD decides.

Apologize for my lengthy verbage but just wanted to vent a little .[ Hope I wasn't just rambling !] A happy and safe weekend to you and yours and as "Red" always ended his show years ago ' God bless" .

No apologies necessary Sageo. Thanks for your thoughts.

Overweight and underwater is a likely lament for many of us. Hang tight.
