Thylacine-In my view, a line between criticism and bashing of management is crossed when the poster is repetitious, re-presenting grievances in various forms as if there is a desire to sway the opinions of others.

I can't speak for Gator but my guess would be that he is in fact trying to sway opinions.  Not the opinions of potential buyers and sellers of the stock (as your post implies), but rather the opinions of the insiders who are not buying in the open market.  Might his post point a brighterl spot-light on them?  Maybe.  Maybe not.  But if people at IOC truly read this Board, I for one, would be happy to have them read his post.

140,000 shares is $5.6 million. Not a great deal of money in the overall scope of this project. Were the shares offered as signing bonuses? My first question is whether these shares were in addition to other forms of compensation.

Assuming these weren't signing bonuses and these shares are in addition to salaries that are otherwise competitive, we then have to ask over what period were these bonus shares earned and how were they earned. It is hard to see or understand board contributions from our vantage points. Drilling disappointments and delays don't describe the suite of all activities of the board but for an exploration company they should share the focus with monetization and market cap. We can all agree the past 18 months in that regard have been pretty disappointing.

Even if we were to know answers to these and other relevant questions such scrutiny rarely makes any difference as boards typically have very little turnover. IOC is exceptional in that regard with nearly 100% turnover since the hiring of Hession. Hard to see any change coming quickly.

Maybe the Board is working very hard and very effectively in setting a foundation for IOC's future success and their compensation is well deserved. On the other hand our Board members might bring to IOC what Michael Jordan brings to Haynes underware.
