I think it is no small coincidence that the phrasing of the well test announcement has had a more positive PPS impact because the news source is Total and NOT IOC.  Let's hope every future release from IOC is preceded with these words!!!

NGAPORE and PORT MORESBY, Papua New Guinea, Jan. 21, 2016 /PRNewswire/ -- InterOil Corporation (NYSE: IOC; POMSoX: IOC) has been advised by Total E&P PNG Limited operator of Petroleum Retention License 15 in the Gulf Province of Papua New Guinea, that the second planned extended well test has commenced at Antelope-5.

I think the pop in today's price is more likely due to the Goldman Buy recommendation and up market today.

I agree with Movieguy and ebster, in addition to oil being up nicely, at least for now. I would say the Total name in the IOC press release has little to do with it.

You may be right but oil has further to fall, at least I think so.  So in that case I'm hoping I'm right that there is a "legitimacy and reputation" enhancement at work with Total being cited as the source.Anything that drives and more importantly, keeps the PPS moving up is welcomed.

I hope you are tight but before we have another short term celebration (I remember breaking $100pps once) let's see what happens if you are correct. There is a good possibility oil drops further. If it falls another $5 per barrel will IOC follow the trend or buck it. That is a test. Either way, sadly we are valued on the prospects, as many have said, until the assets are booked.
