The road to communism is a road to hell. The road to hell is paved with good intentions. Socialism is a nothing but a way point that you approach when making progress.

We've the strongest economy in the developed world. Doesn't that count for something?
Let's look at the record and predictions from past electoral politics. Obama and his team of socialists has taken away our guns, nationalized our auto industry, decimated our hydrocarbon industry, made a shambles of our health care companies and waived the Constitutional requirement that the President be born a US citizen. Somehow we've survived it all throughout the economic depression of the last seven years. In a rare nod to the economic anarchists I will admit to wondering what might have happened had sequester not been a policy of the American government for these past years. Would we be in a position similar to that of the European economies? We might never know. The Federal Reserve with its free money policy for the banks may really have screwed up the validity of any serious testing of that premise. One thing appears certain. Congress has largely denied both itself and the President access to the flood of federal funding normally used to support incumbent candidates and their parties going into an election year. No election year bump for the GDP this year.

In the past few years scientists have confirmed the Higgs boson and the existence of gravity waves in the universe following the invention and successful construction of the most sophisticated machinery ever conceived by man. These incredible efforts weren't the efforts of one small team, or one nation or even a small group of industrialized nations. The scientists, engineers, technicians and all those who contributed to these successes came from almost every nation on earth working together. Now being able to accurately predict severe storms that thrash the Eastern Seaboard even before they've formed over the Pacific Ocean is no mean feat either and a feat that could never be accomplished by one of anything. It is occasionally inspiring to look at what can be accomplished when we stop pursuing individual agendas, stop lying to one another and work with others to solve real problems.

The achievements, especially the past 7 years, and even a lot more in earlier years, are mostly negative for the people and the country. That will be proven in the years to come if not corrected, which will be difficult. I adjust my investments and my life in line with those comments. |
