It is absolutely a slur. See the dictionary link (or any other dictionary, I have no doubt) and other links provided.

Its not a slur. The world calls us Yanks. I'm not a yankee I am an American, but I'm not offended regardless of what anyone anywhere calls me. Grow up, toughen up and quit being a sissy and either discuss the merits of the post or move along. Nothing about any of stavros' posts have ever struck me as racist or ethnically insensitive, but if they had I wouldnt care because in the end its meaningless and if it bothers you, then you need to grow a pair, or develop thicker skin or perhaps develop a little self esteem that better insulates you from the big bad world. Sticks and stones.

Racist or ethnically bigoted remarks are meaningless? On what planet?

Who Cares what your virtual dictionary says? In the annals of slurs its the nicest I've ever heard (if you call froggies a slur), so take your purse and move along if this is too much for you. His post has no harmful intent. Quit making it the issue.

For crying out loud. If you take offense to froggie, my opinion is that you are an overly sensitive human being. that comment is meaner than stavros use of froggie, which you apparently are the only human being I've encountered to be so deeply offended by that term. If you wish to discuss deeply offensive slurs, go do it on another message board. No wonder we always bail you French out. How do you project strength in a world frought with evil when you are so harmed by a jovial term which carries no deep historical reference to something very horrible such as the N word here in the USA.

Take off the skirt. Quit being so sensitive and either discuss the post or don't.

Dictionaries call it derogatory or offensive, you say jovial and think that's a credible response? I'd like to be able to read the great information here without seeing these derogatory slurs. That's all. That's why I asked if it was necessary. That's all.

So what if I was a skirt-wearing male? Would you have some choice slurs for that?

Yes, Scottish.

Is this a slur too?
