XOM and IOC are struggling to find a workaround and came with a plan to bypass the IOC shareholders. XOM badly needs new cheap resources before yearend. It would really disappoint me when the judges accept this plan.  There are 2 important reasons why this new plan is unfair:

1. The most important issue which hindered IOC was related to the resource estimate. If you added up the old GLJ estimate with the best estimate for A7, the total estimate would clearly be higher than 10 TCF and Morgan Stanley did not mention this point. By lowering now the resource estimate this problem is solved. The problem for IOC is that the lowered resource estimate is not ratified in the annual shareholders meeting.

2.  Time is moving and the situation has been changed. Shareholders made a decision within a certain timeframe. Moreover, because of the delay shareholders missed XOM dividend

It is ironic/sad, that if the deal goes through as IOC/XOM are planning, it would appear that IOC shareholders will get about 10% LESS in XOM stock (since XOM stock has moved up in value) than if the deal had closed when first contemplated.

John - Good day to you, kind sir ! I "second " your 'Drats' <img src=" border="0" class="smilie" src="http://shareholdersunite.com/mybb/images/smilies/sad.gif" /> .  Won't the OSH report the first week of January be interesting ? ! If they "push " if to the 'crappy' slant, they will disappoint their shareholders . If they 'slant ' it or spin it in a very possitive manner, Exxon might be upset .

Bottom line : I would like it to bring us a very "Happy New Year" !!!  [ I like that old,old song," I Can Dream,Can't I " I forgot who sang it back then. ]  Best to you and yours.

The Andrews Sisters is the version that I am familar with.

For what it's worth, I don't see how this new deal gets thru the courts, but I'm not a lawyer and I don't see why these guys haven't been arrested for insider trading.
