Not to recreate the wheel here. Is there an existing posting someone could direct me to which summarizes fairly concisely ALL of PNGs interests/ownership and royalty rights, as well as cost sharing obliagations that currently exist AND/OR which are options for them to back into?
There are good and bad things about having government in bed with corporate projects, but mostly bad. It is impossible for them to be an impartial player in any industry when they are part of some projects which compete against companies that have less or no potential government participation. As such government corruption is greatly incentivized. And the shareholders are the easiest people to cheat. Unlike the population we are not going to get violent when we believe the gov't has robbed us.
I would think a lawsuit that leaves out the PNG government as a factor in this would be missing part of the robbery if the government is in fact incentivized to harm any one group in order to favor their chosen partner. Whether they are directly part of the lawsuit or not, clearly they will take a side and use their power to affect the outcome. Just my thoughts. We'd all be better off if the government stayed out.
