Duma's fingerprints all over poorly run DPE; owe yet more money
#1
Not sure how Duma can be considered effective at anything let alone think he can be the next PM. The DPE under his oversight has a horrible history of being ineffective, poorly run and fiscally inept. And now today another story of how DPE rented vehicles to do a Mt Hagan license review back in May and still has not paid the bill. 8000 kina ($A3697) is owed to Sudo Hire Cars and they are not real happy:
"DPE skips on bill

Monday, 16 July 2012

SUDO Hire Cars is reportedly owed 8000 kina ($A3697) from its services provided to PNG’s Department of Petroleum and Energy back in May.

According to The National, the hire company said a senior DPE officer and his assistant have not honoured their promises to pay the bill.

The hire cars were reportedly used by landowners during a Moran petroleum development licence review forum in Mt Hagen in May over the Petroleum Development Licence 5 area.

Moran landowners reportedly “condemned the treatment given to them by these officers at the Department of Petroleum and Energy” from this forum and warned that their outstanding hire car and other bills in Mt Hagen must be settled or the new government would “face problems”."

No doubt something pretty drastic has to happen there. PNG has world-class resources, they need a functioning department
