This isn't the official release and doesn't give any updates on drilling, SD etc which as we all know is the pps driver right now. One interesting thing is in the past mgmt released earnings around 3:30 or 4:30 Central time. Not sure if Phil & Co are in PNG currently like they were for the last CC but it is almost morning now. I'm hoping and praying there is a positive reason for the delay in the Press release....ie DPE approval notice....but that's just a hope

TxPm, I hope the same and time will tell. I hope history is good to us

The following paragraph from the earnings announcement is slightly concerning as a shareholder. However with that being said it appears that the management team is well aware that they need more $$ in order to sufficiently develop all of our resources. As we all know the fastest way to achieve this is via SD. Also as someone in the finance industry I think a lot more financial institutions will be willing to discuss lending needs with IOC once they have a SM as a partner & behind the project. Hopefully we will know more tomorrow.
"The Company believes that it has sufficient funds for the Midstream Refinery and Downstream operations; however, existing cash balances and ongoing cash generated from these operations will not be sufficient to facilitate further necessary development of the Elk and Antelope fields, appraisal of Triceratops field, condensate stripping and liquefaction facilities. Therefore the Company must extend or secure sufficient funding through renewed or additional borrowings, equity raising and or asset sales to enable sufficient cash to be available to further its development plans. Management expects that the Company will be able to secure the necessary financing through one, or a combination of, the aforementioned alternatives. Accordingly, these condensed consolidated interim financial statements have been prepared on a going concern basis in the belief that the Company will realize its assets and settle its liabilities and commitments in the normal course of business and for at least the amounts stated."

Aside from my above Paragraph the financials from the quarter looked strong and were much better then they were last quarter. We appear to now have sufficient cash/credit on hand to get us through for a while. I'll be interested in hearing tomorrow where we stand on the early monotization efforts with PRE b/c that would add additional cash to our balance sheet.
Another note of interest is that we raised the value of our assets by 18% this quarter and the company attributed this increase to an increase in the value of our assets and fields. They don't break down which fields that 18% came from BUT as a company engaged in a SD its always good when your assets are increasing in Value during the negotiations.

Tx, this is a standard paragraph that is obvious without saying and has been in every quarter for years. I can't believe it's something new to you causing any concern whatsoever. In fact, it should be of less concern now than ever before. It's the kind of thing I would expect a short to pull up and post.

Getit, you seem to think just bc someone has concerns around 1 area of a company that makes them a short. Pointing out downside risks does not make you a short it makes you an educated investor. I have mentioned several times on this board that the current amount of cash we have frustrates me bc I think that is one of the main reasons we haven't been able to explore/develop our fields quicker. This is why I have been outspoken about completing the SD even if the prices aren't exactly what mgmt wants. We are currently sitting on a natural resource who's value on the world market is at an all time high. Firms around the world right now are doing all they can to exploit the price differences in NG worldwide & the price discrepancy will not last forever. The longer we wait the closer we get to losing the chance to fully capitalize on the price discrepancy

We have the energy of the next decade in the region of growth for the next decade. Though you may find the winds that cross our bow found no support for our sails... there is a greater trade wind approching. We shall catch that trade my freinds. Cheers Tusker

Ahoy Cap'n Tusker. Those winds across the bow are short of duration. Take the time to rest and be ready to hoist the jib to take advantage of tail winds which will fill the sails for the long journey.
I see a red sky tonight.

... shall we not tap the water next to this ship with our thoughts...perhaps to know the future travels... like ripples to a horizen... and listen for the echo. The winds are commimg. It is a sense beyond the wave. Slenta
