Clipstream G2 demo videos
#1

Can people run the G2 demo video's and report back here how they play, preferably giving some feedback of type of device, internet connection?

While these are pre-release standards so they can be expected to be a little buggy at times, it would be nice to hear back from people as I'm not convinced these bugs have been ironed out completely.

Ok, thanks for that, Thylacine. What about the quality? Did they play continuously? Thanks.

I just ran the Star Trek 2 trailer on my desktop and my iPhone 4S. Played without a hitch. A little slow to start but the green bar "detecting connection speed" is VERY helpful in understanding why.

My take is there might be a lot of ways to use G2 but the adaptation for ads seems simply spectacular. Whether somebody with huge resources like Netflix or YouTube need it or would like it is irrelevant. Advertising drives the web and G2 appears to make linking video (or audio) simple.

Yes, there are really countless ways this stuff can work. In the latest CC (transcript available on Seeking Alpha) Steve mentions quite a few and they're starting with one general self-service cloud transcoder (Amazon servers) and four website for verticals. The authenticitation software, the fact that content can be locked to a single device or URL has numerous uses. TV everywhere authenticitation is just one, as mentioned by the HTFBS newsletter (I can really recommend that to people, I think it also covers XXII which stock I recommended this morning). Turns out that DSNY also has a killer DRM solution.
