From a Market Makers standpoint, an announcement before the open on this coming Monday would work out best for them, I would think. The huge bets for March options are now done, they are past them, and definitely worked the price down to the point of being most profitable. Now the May options will open for trading on Monday a.m., so as of yet they don't have a position or anything to gain or lose yet on them. They have April options with a higher max pain @ 80, so they have room and time until expiry for April to work either the max pain level up more, or to get the price back down to 80 by expiration. So Monday am before open would be the best timing for the makers of the market and the funds that back them. Do companies work with them on when they make large price moving announcements? I think so and IOC has already forewarned the market when they were to receive bids and be making their decision. Will this happen? We shall see, I am only speculating on when would be best for the big players of the stock. Makes alot of sense for timing. But then again, when did anything work out that made the most common sense? Good luck to all.
