We have a new CEO, this is his baby now and he's putting his fingerprints on it.
The ticking time bomb goes off in 2.5 trading days.
Further, shorts have no book on Hession, they had a novel on Phil.

Best reason deal not announced yet

Agreed Lib. I think Tuesday we will have a potential catalyst to propel the stock higher just in hearing some of MH forward looking statements.
I see only upside from here. Deal or No Deal next week. And for the record I too think this deal is taking longer then i would expect to be announced. I haven't seen a good reason as to why yet on this board or anywhere. Regardless it is pretty clear from XOM statements that the deal is getting done.

Resourcearb might have it nailed ... takover is coming.
XOM wants it all but PNG is afraid of a monopoly. Therefore XOM has to take a step back and share the spoils with someone else. This is taking more time than originally anticipated. OR XOM finally realized that E/A is a dry hole blowback. Which one of the above is more likely????

We discredited the the man who said, " How long is a piece of string?" He knew that it takes as long as it takes! The only thing that is definitive is that there will be deal. We are all impatient -- including me.

CF, you are 100% spot on with that one, including the last part. What adds to the frustration is the mixed messages.

The question is why have they Exxon kept the details quiet the way they have.?. They had good reasons. They are Exxon and they are deliberate. Its been reported they have made substabtial progress with the deal talk so it makes perfect sense to announce the deal terms Tuesday.

No offense JFT but from what ive heard i would put the probability of an announcement Tuesday at maybe 10%. Thats not to say we couldnt hear anything this month and especially this quarter

I never stated an announcement Tuesday .I and others expect many of the deal details to be revealed

"I and others expect many of the deal details to be revealed"
Why would you expect this? Why would you expect this without a deal announcement? In the past they did not reveal details about the deal or the terms or any details. The confidentiality agreement was given by many, including you, as the reason for this. I am curious as to why you and others expect this to have changed this conference call? Thanks in advance for your reply. |
