The transformation
#1

Dr. Hession obviousy feels very comfortable that a deal is about to be consummated, and today's call was a confirmation of the new culture that's been installed at the company, which is focused on execution rather than promotion.  Such silence has resulted in a lack of speculative activity around the stock, it's forced weak hands out, and it has set the market up for a surprise announcement on the monetization of PRL 15.

Dr. Hession referred to Elk/Antelope as the best discovery in the Asia Pacific region in 20 years on today's conference call, and it's clear he's done extensive due diligence on the resource.  It seems like the scope of any agreement will be greater than what was initially contemplated, and it also seems there's a frenzy of interest and activity around InterOil's exploration prospects.

I have never been as confident in the story, both in the near and long term, as I am this morning.

Well someone is not agreeing as the share price has tanked $10.50 as of 10:10 AM.

I just pity the poor bastards who thought Hession would do a great job on the CC and margined up accordingly. Frankly, I feel no better or no worse about the resource. Nothing of merit was said in that regard, only that drilling had stopped and Wahoo 1 may get spudded in November (presuming they successfully contract for another rig).

Bummer.

Was clear to me Exxon wants well more than E/A. They want a slice of everything. Farm in from the north to replace PRE to Wahoo

That is absolutely not clear from anything I heard. People keep inferring things that I see is being less tolerated on this board.
