“And we're looking at high-impact exploration wells. So you're absolutely right. A discovery in this area (referring to Wahoo area) will de-risk a whole part of the geology and geography, and the prospect itself, if successful, will undoubtedly be high impact.”
So why will a Wahoo discovery be high impact?
The Wahoo and Mako prospects have merged together and I believe it will now be known as Wahoo. Wahoo is the northern of the two highs and I believe they plan to drill near the highest part of the structure. If this proves to be a reef and it contains gas in multi TCF quantities then that will be enough to be a “high impact” discovery.
But if you look at http://www.interoil.com/iocfiles/documents/investorrelations/presentationanddocuments/2012/Upstream%20Investor%20Presentation%20September%2029%202012.pdf page 17 you will see the proposed Wahoo-1 location and several other prospects in the area. A discovery at Wahoo-1 will be a very positive indication for these other prospects in this area as well as for those prospects down the coast to the southeast, up to Tuna at the Norhtwest and prospects in PPL 238 between Tuna and Elk/Antelope.
Dave Holland said: “The Wahoo and Mako prospects are an initial set of folded and faulted buildups analogous and correlative to the Antelope field.”

I believe Wahoo-1 is more shallow than Antelope so the pressure will be less and the gas reserves per cubic foot of rock will therefore be less for equal porosity. Being more shallow, maybe we can expect higher porosity than Antelope.
For the big picture see http://www.interoil.com/iocfiles/documen...%20ASM.pdf page 22. Remember that Tuna is in both PPL 236 and PPL 238 and the well will probably be drilled in PPL 238. Dave referred to the southeastern most part of PPL 238 so there may be other prospects in this area that we have not yet been told about, unless he is just referring to Tuna.
Dave’s comment: “A discovery here and the confirmation of a shallow marine carbonate reservoir will have a major impact on the prospectivity of both PPL 236 and the southeastern most portion of PPL 238.”
