IOC to list in Australia ??
#1

pickboone from yahoo,

Here’s an article that just appeared in Australia Financial Review a few days ago; it went unnoticed, but it would be a big deal if true. This could be a very big positive catalyst for IOC. A double listing in Sydney with LNG on fire and Australian investors scrambling to find compelling LNG investments in the country could catapult IOC much higher. It’s not like the old days when InterOil was listed in Sydney, as LNG was much more nascent back then and InterOil didn’t even have a resource in those days. Today, Oil Search is the energy darling of Australia. It trades at a $10 billion market cap and doesn't have as much gas as IOC or as good a license position. If InterOil were listed in Australia today, it would attract significant additional buying interest and sell-side coverage. This would be a brilliant move by Hession, especially after the Exxon deal is announced. I've believed since the discovery of Antelope that InterOil's stock could be 50 - 100% higher if it were listed in Australia since investors there are so much more familiar with the value of natural gas resources that can be exported to Asia. Also, they are very familiar with Hession and his achievements at Woodside.

I wonder how much a listing on the Australian exchange would impact the ability to manipulate the stock as now? Very interesting. I hope they do it soon.

I've often wondered why they do not have a Canadian listing.

Hope this reporter isn't confusing this with the plans to list in Singapore. Have not heard of any plans or advanatge to listing again on the Aussie exchange; they were there once and delisted in 2005.

I believe the ticker back when interoil was on the Canadian exchange was IOL.  Yes , I have been around that long. Hope I have my facts straight.

You're always correct Bobby; IOL is what it was up north. Back then they couldn't even spell "Oil" correctly.
Sigh.................

Struth, Bobby. My iTrade software still provides Level 2 quotes on "IOL" ... They will catch up eventually.

Thanks for that info jft310.
It is about time this was done.
It was such a pain not being able to use my nabtrade account for IOC, not to mention the much higher price in Australia for purchasing overseas shares.

There are some here that were at an AGM a few years back when this was discussed over drinks with IOC exec who's name I forget that stated this was one way to solve the short problem. Who was there and what was said.

Come on fellas, I know I am not dreaming about this.

A Listing in Australia combined with a Listing in Hong Kong (where there are piles of CA$H ready to invest) will be a boon to IOC.
