As Sir John Templeton said, "Bull markets are born on pessimism, grown on scepticism, mature on optimism and die on euphoria. The time of maximum pessimism is the best time to buy". InterOil's fundamentals have never been better, its path to commercializing its vast resources has never been more clear, and the skepticism on the story has almost never been higher as investors grow impatient as the company rapidly progresses towards closure of the transformational deal shareholders have been awaiting for many years.

R-arb...
I am pleased with your optimism, intellect and vision. But I have to tell you this line almost made me fall out of my chair laughing. " as the company rapidly progresses towards closure"

" as the company rapidly progresses towards closure" LM, note the tense of my statement. I believe that subsequent to the lapse in exclusivity and submission of a competing bid by Shell, Exxon has had a much greater level of urgency to close. The negotiating process has taken longer than almost anyone expected, but the urgency now exists on both sides and it's currently moving along well.

Getit you are correct. This means that only 1% of shares are available to short...that alone should tell ppl why the pps sits where it is today

I am no expert on shorting but what if one of of the large holders (Paulson?) bought another 2% of the shares and took them away from the shorts? Wouldn't that trigger a forced wave of covering?

Better yet, what if those large holders stopped LENDING shares!!! This is not all naked shorting.
