1)Stock symbol LNG rose from $1.75 to $32 with an LNG export deal

2)OSH rose from $1 to $9 with an LNG deal with Exxon and production of their oil finds.

Makes one wonder how much IOC will rise with an LNG deal that includes some ownership of PNGLNG.

Appears a robust rise as we have several short shares to be covered.

How many know that John Paulson bought into LNG at $1.75 and IOC at $90?? Betting against him has not worked out well in total . Yes he has a few mistakes.

IOC went from 10 to 80 during approximately the same time periods.  If you are insinuating that IOC is going up 9x-16x from here(71.50) on some PNGLNG ownership, I think you will be very disappointed

I keep close watch on sector or industry groups and their behavior in stocks which I own.  My groupings tend to have a quite reliable record of telling an industry success tale.  For instance, my LNG watch group consists of GTLS (Chart Indust), CBI (Chic Bridge & Iron),  and XOP (small E&P Cos.).  Whatever you think has gone on here, All three of those stocks made all time highs yesterday (and have been making them for a while) in a sick market environment here short term.  There should be no reason why IOC should not join this group of LNG related companies when its deal and future outlook is revealed.  I'm watching the shorts work it every day (lids) capping, as well as many others waiting for something concrete out of the company.  The silence is hurting the price regardless of what mgt. feels.   One last point.  I follow relative strength of stocks off of big bear market lows.  I find the first stocks making new highs, and especially all time highs have a high historical reliability of being market leaders in the next bull.  What stock was the first to make all time highs from the last bear market lows?  .......Interoil...... That should send a message to those looking for superior hidden fundamentals.   The bulilish symptoms are still there, imo.    trans

Just thought I would check this out, as it could be a usefull indicator for me in the future.

Did a quick comparison charts between IOC and OSH.

IOC looks poor in this reguard.

So a contrarian money manager would say IOC needs to catch up to OSH , which was the purpose of the post. Fully explains why Citi put a sell rating and $7 target on OSH. Remember Syd I recommended you sell OSH (stock was near$10)several months ago and buy IOC.

Citi agrees with sell OSH and they do not cover IOC.

One needs to compare the market cap of OSH vs IOC and the stock price chart shows you to dig more. Why does OSH have 3 times the market cap of IOC ? Most would say an LNG deal with Exxon and current cash flow. Shows how excited Mr Market gets with an LNG deal. Both charts reflect future cash flows from LNG revenue.

So OSH will come down in price and IOC will go up. And will go way up per the chart, the market cap comparison and some time to wait.

Received several text messages for the chart look ats. Please don't take your frustrations on deal timing on other posters who want to help point you.

jft, the reason I produced the 2 graphs was because I could not see the relationship that trans talked about. I would have expected the peak in late 2009 for IOC should be much higher than the peak for OSH at the same point. The graphs don't show that.

You don't have to always defend IOC against OSH, every time I mention OSH.
Maybe I should state for all to see, that in my opinion, OSH is a good stable company but at the top of its price range and with its major pps ramp up coming to an end. Upside maybe another $1 and then that is about it for a significant time. IOC on the other hand has had a shit of a past history, but its pps outlook is very very bright with its pps future ramp up only just about to start. I will never be AS optimistic about IOC share price as many on this forum, but I DO have a high regard for the future of IOC and plan to make money out of this stock also. Please don't assume that everything I post is meant as an attack on IOC and it pps.

"Remember Syd I recommended you sell OSH (stock was near$10)several months ago and buy IOC."
Actually OSH was at around AU$8 and IOC was at around US$80. If I did as you recomended at that time, I would now be around 10% in the red.
